Travelling Head Press And Industrial Clicker Press For Wide-Format Cutting

The travelling head press — or mobile carriage press — is the industrial die-cutting solution for wide flexible material webs and large-format sheets. The cutting head travels the full width of the working surface, bringing the die to the material rather than the material to the die — enabling wide-format cutting of rolls or sheets up to 2 500 mm wide with consistent precision travelling head system accuracy at every point of the working area.

Our Travelling Head Presses

Suteau-Anver offers three complementary travelling head cutting solutions of its own design and manufacture, covering hydraulic, 100% electric and CNC-controlled configurations across all production scales.

The SA 12 hydraulic travelling head press is Suteau-Anver's flagship industrial clicker press for wide-format flexible material cutting. Available in 10 models with working surfaces from 1 700 x 530 mm to 2 500 x 800 mm and cutting forces from 25 to 32 tonnes (40 tonnes option), it cuts all flexible and semi-rigid materials in one or multiple layers from rolls or sheets. The carriage travels at high speed across the full working width, with automatic cut-point setting regardless of die height — no manual re-adjustment between die changes. Multilingual touchscreen interface, safety cell barrier, optional double-roller material feed and optional material unwinder make it a complete wide-format cutting workstation. Available in CE, non-CE and three-phase configurations.

The E21G 100% electric travelling head press brings all the benefits of electric drive to the mobile head press format — available in 7 models with working surfaces from 1 700 x 530 mm to 2 000 x 750 mm and cutting forces from 25 to 30 tonnes. No hydraulic circuit, no oil, no leakage risk — quieter, cleaner and more energy-efficient than an equivalent hydraulic Traveling Head Press. Its automatic cut-point setting and multilingual touchscreen deliver the same ease of use as the SA 12, with the additional advantages of a servo-driven precision travelling head system.

The SA 121-CN CNC travelling head press takes industrial die-cutting to its highest level of automation — with the die mounted under the carriage, CNC nesting software optimising material placement to minimise waste, and a capacity of 18 to 50 strokes per minute. With an optional automatic tool magazine enabling multiple die shapes within a single production cycle, it is the reference travelling head cutting solution for high-volume, multi-reference flexible material production.

Benefits Of Travelling Head Presses

Wide-format cutting up to 2 500 mm: the carriage reaches every point of the working surface — maximising material yield on wide rolls and large sheets

Industrial clicker press power: from 25 to 40 tonnes of cutting force — sufficient for the thickest and most resistant flexible materials in one or multiple layers simultaneously

Automatic cut-point setting: no manual adjustment at every die change — the press sets its own cut depth, saving time and eliminating operator error

Precision travelling head system consistency: the same cut depth and force at every point of the working width — no variation edge-to-edge, batch after batch

French manufacture: all Suteau-Anver travelling head presses are designed and built in-house — after-sales service and spare parts delivered directly by our own technicians
