Toggle Press And Crank Press For High-Speed Mechanical Die-Cutting

A toggle press or crank press delivers the highest cutting cadence available in flexible material die-cutting — the crank-and-connecting-rod mechanism drives the upper platen in a continuous, high-speed mechanical stroke that eliminates the start-stop cycle of hydraulic presses. For high-volume reel-fed production where maximum output per shift is the primary requirement, the mechanical cutting press is the reference solution.

Our Toggle / Crank Presses

Suteau-Anver designs and manufactures a complete range of crank presses for continuous high-speed die-cutting — the mechanical press series Models 110, 120, 135, 150 and 180 — all of its own design and manufacture in France and covering cutting forces from 10 to 80 tonnes.

The continuous mechanical crank press range — Models 110 to 180 is Suteau-Anver’s flagship toggle press family for high-speed flexible material production. Fed continuously from an unwinder, these mechanical cutting presses reach up to 180 strokes per minute — with each stroke potentially covering up to twenty simultaneous impressions depending on die dimensions and machine force. This combination of cadence and multi-impression tooling makes them the most productive die-cutting solution available for foam, rubber, cardboard, paper and composite reel-fed materials.

Their crank press mechanism is built around a welded steel swan-neck frame — the upper mobile platen driven by a crank-and-connecting-rod system coupled to a gear-motor, with all articulations mounted on bearings for smooth kinematics and maximum service life. The lower platen enables high-speed mechanical stroke cut-point adjustment with a precision of 0.01 mm via a screw-and-nut system — critical for precision stamping and kiss-cutting applications where controlled depth is non-negotiable.

On each side of the platens, a double feed roller driven by servo motor guarantees a mechanical feed precision of ±0.1 mm — with independent open/close control for push or pull material feeding. The CNC control panel stores 999 production programmes covering feed pitch, acceleration, deceleration and stroke count — enabling instant batch changeovers without mechanical adjustment. Safety norms compliance is standard on all models.

Available in five press forces — 10, 20, 35, 50 and 80 tonnes — with working surfaces from 350 x 350 mm to 1 000 x 1 000 mm, these crank presses can be configured as standalone machines or integrated into complete in-line systems with unwinder, weeder, cross-cutter and rewinder.

Benefits Of Toggle / Crank Presses

Up to 180 strokes per minute: the highest cutting cadence available in flexible material production — unmatched output for high-volume reel-fed applications

0.01 mm cut-point precision: the lower platen adjustment system delivers exact kiss-cut depth control — the defining advantage of a toggle press over hydraulic alternatives for precision stamping

±0.1 mm feed accuracy: servo-driven double feed roller maintains consistent pitch throughout the full production run — no drift, no waste

999 programme storage: instant batch changeover without mechanical re-adjustment — full high-speed mechanical stroke productivity from the first piece

French manufacture: all Suteau-Anver mechanical cutting presses are designed and built in-house — after-sales service and spare parts delivered directly by our own technicians
